SynapTrack.com

Follow every spike, synapse and signal under one name.

SynapTrack joins synap, from synapse, the junction where one neuron passes a signal to the next, with track: to follow, record and measure. The .com is for sale to the neurotechnology, neuroscience or neural data company that wants the flagship address.

01Why this name

Two syllables. A whole field.

Neuroscience runs on measuring how neurons signal. SynapTrack names that work in ten letters that are easy to say, spell and remember.

CH 01

Says what it does.

Synapse plus track reads instantly as following neural activity. Customers, investors and researchers get the idea before the page even loads.

CH 02

Built on a real scientific root.

Synapse is a core term in neuroscience. The name borrows that credibility without tying you to a single method, species or product.

CH 03

The .com people type first.

For a company name, the .com is the address people assume. Owning it keeps visitors, email and search traffic from landing somewhere else.

CH 04

Clean and brandable.

Ten letters, no hyphens, no numbers, no odd spelling. It works as a company name, a product name or the name of a software suite.

CH 05

Room to grow.

It fits recording hardware, analysis software, research services or a data platform, and it stretches as a product line expands.

REFSynapse tracking background

What synapse tracking is, and why the name fits.

How synapses are followed in living tissue, what the counts mean and who builds the tools.

Watching synapses in a living brain

Synapse tracking starts with a microscope that sees through tissue: two-photon excitation, published in 1990, confines fluorescence to the focal plane, so a living brain can be imaged in depth.1 With a fluorescent protein in a few neurons and a glass window over the cortex, the same dendrite can be revisited for months.2 In 2002 that approach followed individual dendritic spines, the protrusions that carry most excitatory synapses, in adult mouse cortex for weeks: about half persisted for at least a month, the rest lasted days, and electron microscopy confirmed that spines appearing and vanishing meant synapses forming and being lost.3

Markers that make a synapse visible

A spine is a proxy. Tracking spines and synaptic proteins together in vivo shows that about a fifth of spines lack PSD-95 and are short-lived.4 On the presynaptic side, synaptophysin fused to GFP marks vesicle clusters, tracked in live zebrafish at ten-minute intervals.5 GRASP splits GFP across two cells so fluorescence appears only where their membranes meet at a synapse,6 and mGRASP adapted it to the mouse brain.7

Turnover as a number

Because the same synapses are revisited, synapse tracking turns plasticity into rates: formation, elimination, lifetime and survival. Learning and novel experience drive spine formation and elimination over days, the extent of remodelling correlates with behavioural improvement, and a small fraction of new spines persists for life.8

Past the diffraction limit, into electrons

Expansion microscopy physically swells the tissue, so an ordinary confocal resolves labels closer than the diffraction limit, at roughly 70 nanometres.9 The first complete wiring diagram, 302 neurons of C. elegans, came from serial sections in 1986.10 A whole adult fly brain followed in 2024: 139,255 neurons and some fifty million synapses.11 In 2025 the MICrONS dataset paired calcium imaging of around 75,000 neurons with an electron-microscopy reconstruction holding half a billion synapses in a cubic millimetre of mouse visual cortex.12

Software that counts synapses

Counting is the bottleneck. Human annotators agree on spines only about 82% of the time, which is why DeepD3 offers an open deep-learning framework for automated spine quantification.13 SynQuant detects synaptic puncta with a probability-based method built for noisy images, released as a Fiji plug-in.14 Tracking over time and proofreading at scale is a software category of its own.

Why synapse tracking matters for disease

In Alzheimer's disease, synapse density correlates with cognition far more strongly than plaques and tangles do,15 and in mouse models synapses are lost before plaques appear.16 A 2023 review confirms the correlation in humans and animal models.17 Synaptic density can now be estimated in living people by PET imaging of the vesicle protein SV2A,18 which also finds lower synaptic marker levels in schizophrenia.19 In autism, post-mortem cortex shows more spines and reduced developmental pruning,20 and altered structural plasticity recurs across neuropsychiatric disorders.21 Whether an intervention protects synapses is a question synapse tracking is built to answer.

The ecosystem around the name

The human brain holds 86 billion neurons and more than 100 trillion synapses. In 2023 the NIH BRAIN Initiative committed $150 million over five years across 11 grants to map connections across whole brains, from mice to humans.22 Who builds around synapse tracking is a fair picture of who might want SynapTrack.com:

  • Neuro-imaging software startups: spine and synapse detection, tracking, proofreading.
  • Microscopy vendors bundling analysis software with their instruments.
  • Connectomics laboratories and consortia naming a pipeline, dataset or proofreading community.
  • Neurotechnology and drug-discovery companies using synaptic density as a readout.
  • Lab-tools and reagent brands: synaptic markers, viral vectors, split-GFP kits.

Synapse tracking, synaptic tracking, tracking synapses

Papers say spine dynamics, synaptic density or connectome depending on the method. In plain speech the job is tracking synapses: finding them, following them and counting what changes. SynapTrack is that phrase in ten letters, a coined name with room for a brand.

05Questions

Before you offer.

How does the purchase work?

Send an offer through the form or by email. Once price and terms are agreed, payment goes to an escrow service and is released to the seller only after the domain is in your registrar account.

Is there a fixed price?

No. The sale is offer-based. Every serious offer is read and answered personally within 24 hours.

Can I buy the other SynapTrack extensions too?

Yes. SynapTrack .ai, .co, .io, .net, .org and .uk are offered by the same owner. Acquire one or several, or the complete set with the .com.

Does this page offer medical or research services?

No. This is a domain sale page. It does not provide medical advice or services, and no product or service is offered under this name.

What does synapse tracking mean?

Following identified synapses, or the proteins that mark them, over time and counting what forms, persists and disappears, whether by two-photon imaging, tagged synaptic proteins, GRASP-type labels or electron microscopy.

Is SynapTrack tied to one technique or species?

No. The name describes a job, not a method. It fits live imaging in mice and zebrafish, expansion microscopy, PET synaptic-density measures in people and connectomics software.

Can synapses be tracked in living humans?

Not one by one. PET imaging of the vesicle protein SV2A estimates synaptic density in the living human brain; single-synapse tracking is done in animal models and tissue.

Why is synapse loss treated as an early marker?

Synapse density tracks cognition more closely than plaques or tangles, and in mouse models synapses are lost before plaques appear. This page summarises published research and gives no medical advice.

Is SynapTrack an existing product or term?

No. SynapTrack is a coined name from synapse and track; synapse tracking is used here as a plain description of the field. Nothing is sold under the name; the page exists only to offer the domain.
